Our Duty to Veterans PETITION — please sign immediately!

We need as many signatures as possible. Share with all your friends who feel the same way and recognize that Canada has to treat its veterans with understanding. compassion and compensation for their losses, whether health, mind or limb. This begins with immediate legislative amendments to the New Veterans Charter, so that those conditions that benefited veterans and their pensions prior to 2006 are re-instated and that all veterans from 2006 and into the future be treated as one for all and all for one.

Please go to Our Duty to Veterans PETITION and add your signature to all Canadians prepared to support their members of the armed forces, military reservists, RCMP, and emergency personnel who risk their lives on behalf of you every day. 2. Shirley Wheatley says:

ALL our vets deserve to be treated with compassion and state of the art care for anyone coming home after horrific experiences as they work on our behalf where ever and however it happens. Whether you agree or disagree with the reasons they are there, they need our help as a society and a country.

  3. Andrew Nicoll (Veteran) says:

When time in need we are called upon to do a duty that we know we may never return. Yet, we are brushed aside by our own gov’t being forgotten who did and paid the ultimate for keeping the peace and the rights of freedom.

  4. Darlene Piet says:

These politicians get a fully indexed pension after 6 years and are expelling veterans from the service mere month before they qualify for theirs. These men and women have lost limbs and worse fighting for us and deserve better. Shame on you Mr. Harper and the rest of the swine in the political arena that are considering this violation of human rights!

  8. We as Canadians should not even have to tell Our Politicians & Government & Country that they should be As A Country taking Responsibility or Obligation of Taking Care Respectfully of Our Veterans of War with Compassion & Pensions & Health Care ~! It Should Come” A Naturally “~ it Should not be Questionable `! The Politicians Should not be Arbitrating or Going through a Supreme Court Financial War Against “Our Countries Heroes “they sent out to War they went out to this War Because of You! They went out with the “Understanding & Sacred Obligation “that they in turn for fighting for this Country Would have thier Needs met~ ! Which in 2006 was changed Without thier Knowledge this is a” Grave Injustice ~!”By Our Government System & By All Whom are involved it is Scandolous & should be Punished by Law~ ! If these Men & Women went Awol Half way through War what would happen to them~! Answer me that~? They Would be Punished by Law ~!!! Why then ? Can you tell me is Our Government Now trying to Spend Billions of Dollars to Breech thier “Sacred Obligation” to Our Veterans ?

  9. That’s exactly what our government is doing to our veterans, Christine — reducing their bloated budget by taking away needed VAC services and reducing compensation our veterans and wounded warriors deserve, never mind have earned in the service of their country and for the same politicians who now dismiss their obligation and responsibility to our service people. At a time in 2006 when we were losing our highest number of soldiers fighting in Afghanistan, they snuck through changes to the Veterans Act so that today’s combat soldiers are less well looked after than WWII veterans but they suffer the most debilitating wounds because of today’s more vicious warfare, weapons and hi-tech medicine that keeps soldiers alive who would have been killed in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. There is no doubt our politicians are war criminals. And yes, any soldier who goes AWOL is prosecuted and punished — under combat conditions they can even be executed.

  10. saw the most disrespectful act at McDonalds yesterday.. while i was in
line to order a coffee, an old school veteran (senior citizen), was in
front ordering a coffee… when the snot little cashier tell the Vet
that it’s $2.75. i almost could not believe my ears. i had to step in
and tell the cashier that the vet’s coffee will be paid by me. I myself
being a veteran (afghan) could not believe that on Veteran’s day of all
days, this Old School Vet is being charge for a simple coffee by a
Multibillion dollar franchise. i hope that all public serving business
realize the sacrifice these old vets made and the sacrifice all vets
make in the service of Canada and it’s citizens.
